Position Description
The Post-Surgical Registered Nurse, under the direction of Unit Director/Charge Clinical Coordinator, is responsible and accountable for patient assessment and evaluation and delivery of patient care through the utilization of the nursing process in accordance with physicians’ orders, established policies and procedures, established professional standards, and administrative hospital-wide policies.
The organization is a community of 94,000 Registered Nurses and 38,000 active physicians. We have over 1,900 facilities ranging from hospitals, freestanding ER’s, ambulatory surgery centers, and urgent care clinics. Our facility based staff continues to raise the bar in patient care. Ten hospitals have been named in IBM Watson Health’s top 100 best-performing hospitals based on patient satisfaction and operational data.
The Hospital, 183 beds, has been providing comprehensive healthcare services for residents of south Tampa for more than 40 years. Hospital for Endocrine Surgery is a new 75,000 square-foot facility at 6001 Webb Road including 16 private patient rooms, eight operating rooms, and 38 pre- and post-surgery bays and is slated to begin welcoming patients by January 2022.

• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred
• 6 months of Post-Surgical nursing experience is preferred
• Current Florida State Registered Nurse license
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider (BLS)
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
• Lifting 50 lbs maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

General Comments
Additional Info:

• Night shift - 8pm-8:30am

• Experience preferred but willing to cross train if the caregiver has a strong enough underlying skill set.

• 16 private Inpatient rooms on the unit.

• No call component as this is an Inpatient unit.
Sign-on: Yes, $10k for a 2 year commitment or 15K for a 3 year commitment
Relo: Yes, usually approved in the amount of $5k
