Facility Description:
The Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute is a 380-bed acute-care hospital offering a full range of services. The hospital is home to the most experienced Heart Institute on the Treasure Coast providing interventional and therapeutic care, including open-heart surgery. Other hospital services include adult and pediatric emergency services, labor/delivery and birthing, pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, diagnostic services, as well as inpatient and outpatient surgical services.
The facility is designated by the Joint Commission as a Certified Primary Stroke Center. The Physical Rehabilitation Center is CARF accredited and we are designated a Level II Trauma Center by the Florida Department of Health and verified by the American College of Surgeons. We also offer a freestanding ER in Vero Beach providing emergency treatment for adults and children closer to home. Job Description:
The Patient Safety Director is responsible for facilitating the transition from a retrospective, reactive model for risk management to a prospective, proactive loss prevention, harm reducing patient safety program. Promotes a culture of safety. Directs others within the facility towards process improvements that support the elimination of medical/health care errors and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes. Initiates and oversees the development of a comprehensive patient safety improvement program inclusive of the analysis and trending of data. This position demonstrates a high degree of responsibility, accountability and autonomy.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare related field required, Master’s Degree preferred
• 3 years’ experience in a position dedicated to either Patient Safety, Risk, or Quality clinical education experience responsible for the development, implementation and delivery of clinical education programs required
• Previous management experience preferred
• Certification in Patient Safety (CPPS):
o If not already CPPS, must achieve CPPS Certification within 12 months from date of hire
• Other licenses/certifications as required by State

o 3-5 years healthcare experience in patient safety, risk, and/or quality preferred
o Must be a RN with BSN: clinical background preferred

Salary Range $97K min - $120K mid, based on years of experience at the leadership level. Additional room if candidate over 10+ years of leadership experience
**Up To 15% bonus annual bonus, based on performance KPI’s
